Support Educator at Järva Group and Service Housing

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

Järva Group and Service Housing is now seeking a Support Educator.

This is a new role established to strengthen the educational work and develop the methodology in the organization. The workplace is located at one of the district's group homes in Kista. We are close to public transport and natural areas that enable outdoor activities.

We offer

As a monthly employee, you have access to wellness benefits and the opportunity for vacation exchange. You will be offered favorable training card purchases for Stockholm's municipal swimming pools, gyms, and training facilities. Additionally, as an employee of the City of Stockholm, you currently receive discounts at several other gyms and training facilities. Please read more about our benefits here.

Your role

As a Support Educator, you will work to advance the educational methodology in the organization and ensure that the educational work is conducted systematically. You will report directly to the unit manager while also being part of the everyday work where you support and work with users alongside colleagues in the team to provide assistance in their daily lives based on their wishes and needs.

Your tasks include:

  • Developing methods for documentation, mapping, and action plans.
  • Supporting colleagues in work methodology and pedagogy.
  • Disseminating knowledge on how to implement clear pedagogical practices.
  • Driving the work forward based on the Educational Framework together with colleagues.
  • Being the spider in the web of educational work by inspiring and ensuring that evidence-based practices are used to enhance the quality of the organization and contribute to building cognitive support and security for users.

You will report to the unit manager and will eventually join the area's network for Support Educators. Your role will be split approximately 50 percent for planning and leading educational work and about 50 percent in everyday work (the distribution of educational and regular work may be adjusted). Working hours will be during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Support Educator training.
  • At least four years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • At least one year of experience working for and with individuals in person group 2.
  • Experience with social implementation documentation.
  • Documented knowledge of LSS.
  • Documented knowledge in LAB.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language and the ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing.

Preferred qualifications for the position:

  • Experience working with individuals with visual impairments.
  • Previous experience motivating, inspiring, and mentoring others in pedagogy.
  • MI and TAKK.

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment and interest in working for and with individuals in person groups 1 and 2 in our organization. You have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in teams while also being able to work independently and take initiative. As a person, you are creative, solution-oriented, and have the courage to try new methods. Furthermore, you are a reliable and pedagogical person who can inspire and build trust with both users and colleagues.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability, engagement, and motivation for the position.

If you recognize yourself in the above description, you are warmly welcome to apply!

Your application

We are recruiting without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and succinctly to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.

The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competencies and thereby counteracting discrimination.
